Kinesiology – Foundation Level

Take the guesswork out of natural healthcare

Study In-class

Kinesiology Foundation course

The Kinesiology Foundation Course is designed to give the student a sound understanding of the basics of authentic kinesiology and is ideal as a standalone course for beginners and practitioners alike, or as a prerequisite for professional kinesiology training. It includes all elements of the best kinesiological practice plus practical experience and self-development.

Systematic kinesiology is an amazing assessment tool and uses manual muscle testing to identify imbalances within the body, therefore removing the need for guesswork when working with clients, friends and family. It addresses the nutritional, structural, emotional and energetic aspects of health, highlighting the links between muscle strengths and the functioning of the meridian system on the surface of the body as well as its flow through the corresponding organs.

After identifying imbalances, they can be corrected by a variety of gentle, yet powerful techniques, such as rubbing points on the body associated with lymphatic drainage from an organ, holding or tapping acupuncture points to stimulate energy flow, increasing water intake or introducing nutritional supplementation, use of herbal remedies or change of lifestyle.

As muscles are controlled by the brain and spinal cord reflexes, kinesiology also evaluates the effects of stress on the brain and the whole nervous system.

Kinesiology works with the whole person, assessing specific patterns of imbalance and what the body needs to be restored to balance. It is unobtrusive and produces results quickly.

What our students say

“I absolutely loved the course. It was an amazing journey to discover completely new diagnostic tools. It wasn’t easy at first, as it was like learning a completely new language; language of the body (muscle response). But once learnt, the body speaks to you very clearly about what is needed and on what level (physical, emotional and energetical). I will be confident using it in my nutritional practice and look forward to the kinesiology diploma next year.”

Barbara Z.

“I cannot recommend studying the foundation in Kinesiology enough! I have completed many trainings in addition to my Nutrition diploma since graduating from CNM, but this was my most invaluable so far. Kinesiology is a fascinating subject, and its uses in your practice are infinite. It combines so many modalities that gives you some many insights into a person’s health. Sonia, our tutor, was very knowledgeable and instilled in our group so much enthusiasm for the subject. Best of all I met some friends I can honestly say were some of the nicest like-minded people that I will stay in life-long contact with long after our studies end. “

Is your diet doing you more harm than good?

Healthy eating is only ‘healthy’ if you’re not intolerant to any of your food. Your body is biochemically different to everybody else’s – you’re unique and a diet which works for one person can be a disaster for another. So identifying food intolerances can be extremely useful for you and your clients.

Kinesiology is a wonderfully quick, efficient, non-invasive and accurate method of identifying exactly which foods one’s body is absorbing well and which foods it’s struggling to tolerate. It uses manual muscle testing with immediate results. It is amazing how previously strong muscles become weak when a food, to which someone is intolerant, is placed on the body.

Food intolerances can have many unpleasant consequences like obesity, chronic pain and inflammation, mental health issues, mood changes and behavioural problems. Therefore discovering food intolerances with such an accuracy can be a true life-changer.

What you will learn

  • History, philosophy and practice of kinesiology.
  • How to accurately test 40+ muscles
  • How to provide ongoing pain relief and mitigate structural support for weak or injured body parts.
  • How to defuse emotional stress without being in any way intrusive.
  • How to identify foods/nutrients which will enhance a person’s health.
  • Techniques to relieve breast congestion, headache and sleeping problems.
  • How to assess whether someone’s problem needs structural work, nutritional work, emotional work or electrical work to re-balance it.
