Vital Herbs to Help the Menopause

Menopause is a normal condition in every woman’s life. At around age 50, the blood levels of oestrogens drop dramatically. Many women, especially Asian, go through this change feeling fine both physically and psychologically, but other women — mostly those from Western cultures — experience severe symptoms, including hot flashes, depression, irritability and anxiety.

It has been suggested that women on high-fat, low-fibre diets have a more dramatic drop in oestrogen levels and, therefore, experience heavier menopausal symptoms. But there are also other factors influencing whether a woman will go through menopause easily or not. Whatever the case, there are natural ways that help women graciously face the change and come out feeling their very best.

The Vital Herbs to Help the Menopause course teaches you:

  • Why the guarding of bone mass is so important during menopause.

  • What physical changes are caused by the rapid decline in oestrogen

  • How different herbs work to support a variety of signs and symptoms experienced during all three stages of menopause.

How menopause affects mental health

Menopause has a variety of physical symptoms such as tiredness, night sweats, insomnia, hot flushes, memory loss, muscle and bone pains as well as weight gain.

During menopause, it’s common to experience a variety of psychological changes, such as irritability, sadness, lack of motivation, aggressiveness, problems focusing, difficulty concentrating, depression and anxiety. Much like constant premenstrual syndrome (PMS), these effects can cause emotional strain.

In women with pre-existing mental health issues, menopause can cause a relapse or change to mental health. Research suggests that women who had severe PMS in their younger years or experienced postpartum depression may have more severe mood swings during perimenopause.

Women with a history of clinical depression are often more likely to experience recurring clinical depression during menopause. It has also been shown that menopause increases symptoms of bipolar disorder, with sufferers tending to experience more depressive episodes.
