Winter’s harsh conditions can leave our skin feeling parched and dull. Cold weather, with its chilly winds, damages our skin and ages it faster, especially where it has been exposed the most — on our face and hands. How can we protect and nourish our skin naturally to keep it soft and smooth during the winter months?
The main difference between a summer and winter skincare routine is that skin tends to become drier in winter, so it may be calling out for comforting, richer textures. This is because winter’s cooler weather and temperature changes (cold outside, hot and dry inside) can cause skin to lose moisture with harsh winds stripping away its natural oils. Whatever your usual skin type, it’s not uncommon to experience dry skin in winter, alongside redness, tightness, flaking and discomfort. For most, winter skin just needs a little extra tender loving care.
The focus of the Winter Natural Skincare workshop is to teach participants how to craft skincare rituals that are perfect for winter to support the healthy barrier of the skin and keep it healthy, firm and plump. We will look at raw, organic and vegan skincare ingredient options to address cold weather concerns from dryness, redness and rosacea flare-ups to irritation and cracking, aiming for super-nourished, well-hydrated, smooth and radiant skin.
At the workshop you will make the following products:
Hydrating herbal overnight mask
Lip balm
Vitamin E moisturising cream
Shea body butter
Revitalising eye cream

“I loved the Winter Skincare short course with Dominica. The course was informative, hands on making lovely nourishing natural skincare products that are real and free from chemicals. Dominica was lovely, present with us, giving all the attention we needed and with a smile on her face at all the times.”
