Natural Skincare
Is your skin sensitive and easily reactive to commercial skincare products? Do you often feel uncomfortable with your skin itching or stinging? Is your skin prone to outbursts of spots, acne or carbuncles? Have you got extremely dry or excessively oily skin? Do you suffer from eczema, rosacea or allergic contact dermatitis?
Many hyped, branded and shop-bought cosmetic products contain ingredients that are harsh, drying and irritating to skin, and may have long-term health consequences. With the right knowledge and preparation, natural homemade skin products can be just as convenient, but more importantly, healthy too, offering great results for various skin types, as well as different demands from the perspective of age, allergies or congenital chronic conditions.
Natural Skincare teaches you:
-
The anatomy, physiology and functions of the skin.
-
Which micro- and macronutrients are crucial for young, smooth and radiant skin.
-
What ingredients in skincare products can be harmful to the skin and to the environment.
-
How to create the perfect skincare routine for you and your family.
What is healthy skin?
Healthy skin is strong, supple, vibrant, calm, adjustable, of a consistent colour and feels good. The skin is not completely smooth like glass, but has tiny peaks around hair follicles and pores, and tiny valleys in between the peaks. Healthy skin also doesn’t react to stress with outbursts, redness, excessive oiliness or heat, and it doesn’t have eczema or rashes, hives or spots. It doesn’t itch, burn, sting or scale, is neither flaky nor moist and it doesn’t feel tight. Healthy skin feels good to be in, naturally glows, has lines and pores, and is comfortable.
If your skin doesn’t feel like anything, that’s a sign that your skin is doing alright.
